Key Takeaways: Heat Pump Rebates in Colorado
Homeowners in the Denver Metro area may be able to combine state tax credits, utility rebates, and other available incentives to significantly reduce the upfront cost of qualifying heat pump systems.
Upgrading to energy-efficient equipment lowers monthly utility bills while improving year-round home comfort.
Colorado homeowners can lower the cost of a new HVAC system by combining Xcel Energy heat pump rebates with other available state and local incentives. As of January 1, 2026, Xcel Energy no longer offers standard rebates on gas furnaces and boilers, so a high-efficiency heat pump is now the main path to HVAC rebates in the Denver metro area.
The Weather Changers guide our neighbors through this shifting financial landscape to ensure you receive every dollar available to you. By understanding how these programs fit together, you can achieve unprecedented savings on a new, high-efficiency Heat Pump system.

Xcel Energy incentives provide major utility-level support for their gas and electric customers in the Denver metro area. Xcel Energy offers robust standard rebates for space-heating heat pumps, which help offset the upfront cost of equipment. It is important to note that effective January 1, 2026, standard gas furnace and boiler rebates have been removed from regular Xcel Energy offerings, reinforcing the regional push toward highly efficient electric heating options.
